<prof.>Masayuki Kawai, He makes radical and philosophical video works, and has shown in over 30 countries. Stayed in artist-in-residencies in NY, Paris and Israel. He also actively organizes exhibitions and various projects of video art, based on the concept of "Visual Philosophy".
Ryota Hamasaki, He explores video art to criticize and overcome the present situation of contemporary art.

International Short Film Festival Leuven (Belgium)

The 17th edition of the International Short Film Festival Leuven (Belgium) will take place from December 3 - 10, 2011 at Arts Center STUK and Cinema ZED. The festival programme consists of more than 120 screenings in 5 venues. The programme contains live action films, animated shorts, music videos, documentaries and non-narrative shorts. The festival screens about 275 short films from all over the world, divided into 30 compilations.

aspex seeks emerging artists working in all media for its open submission exhibition EMERGENCY5. In September a maximum of 12 artists will be selected for a group show. From these short-listed artists a winner will be chosen to receive the prize of a solo exhibition at aspex in 2013, including a £1000 fee and £1000 production budget.

Deadline for submissions: Monday 1 August 2011

Exhibition dates: 22 October 2011 – 8 January 2012

Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival

28th Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival, November 8 to 13, 2011

For the 28th time the Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival will present the diversity of regional, national and international documentary work in all its variation.
About 250 international short and feature length documentary films as well as experimental and artistic works will be presented during the six days of the festival. The program is complemented by the media art exhibition Monitoring, audiovisual performances and VJ-ing at the DokfestLounge, the workshop seminar interfiction, the DokfestForum and several events dedicated to young Hessian filmmakers. All in all, it adds up to a profile that is unique among the festival scene. The 28th Kassel Dokfest will take place from November 8 to 13.

We invite all filmmakers, artists, distributors, producers, gallery owners, universities or institutions to submit their most current works and projects to the different sections of the festival.

Reminder: Deadline for submission is July 20, 2011
