In November VIDEOART CHANNEL introduces
videoart from
African countries, mainly featuring the
artists initiative group, "PULSE,” in Durban, South Africa.
For the most videoart works, this will be the first time in Japan to be
screened, as a total new art scene formed in the swirl of globalism and
localism. Tangled with dynamic and peace, with humor and irony, the
innovative
African videoart scene will be presented to you by VIDEOART CHANNEL.
About PULSE
PULSE is an artist initiative project initiated by Greg Steak, an
artist based in Durban, South Africa. The aim is to create
a forum in Durban,
for a cross-pollination of intercultural debate through project, such
as
exhibition and conference, organized by PULSE on an annual basis. This
forum is
also open for South Africa
and international cultural practitioners and producers. PULSE is not
limiting
itself only to observation on videoworks, but also other arts that
could open a
more wide discussion on contemporary and interdisciplinary arts. |
